Como vai?
Welcome to this week’s TAT posting, and welcome to the new readers. I hope you enjoy reading this posting as much as I enjoy putting it together
On the menu today? BRAZIL!!

O que voce recomenda?
I have a few suggestions: Copacabana beach for New Years? Or maybe Carnival in February? There are also all the other amazing sights to see like the Iguacu falls on the boarder with Argentina, or (for Kirsty who is keen to do an African safari) how about Piranha Fishing or Jungle Camp in the Amazon? Whatever your tastes and preferences it would appear that Brazil has something to offer everyone.
If you end up at Copacabana beach may I suggest you say to the people at the hotel: ‘quero um quarto com vista para o mar.’
Explore this first link – the photo gallery has some gorgeous pictures and is full of useful and interesting info on Brazil, including the history of Carnival (Did you know that Carnival comes from a Catholic Religious festival celebrating the start of Lent. Lent is the time where Catholics are not supposed to eat meat for the 40 days until Easter, and the name Carnival comes from the Italian word carnevale which literally means ‘to put away the meat’!!).
This second link takes you to the official site of the Brazilian Tourism Office. See if you can work out what I have written in this email… I love learning a new language!
By the way, Carnival takes place on Fevereiro dois, tres, quarto, and cinco in 2008 – anyone want to go with me? – Start saving now…
Eu gostaria de uma passagem de ida e volta para Brazil!
Obrigada
