I saw this quote on a large memorial pillar as I was leaving Hyde Park Corner and heading towards Buckingham Palace. There was something about the words that I thought were captivating. They made me stop and think. So I took a photo and have posted these words onto my blog to share with all of you.
Before I left New Zealand my mum gave me a copy of the book The Secret which I began reading when I got to London. It has really given me a lot of food for thought about my life and I think that the quote above sounds like something you would find in this book. The Secret talks about how your future is not dictated by your past, it doesn’t matter what happened in your past you are able to forget it if you want and start fresh (your past shouldn’t be an excuse for your future). I think that that is the key to realising our future is greater than our past because the past is just that, the past, it has been and gone and we have no control over what has happened. However our future is in our hands waiting for us to create it, to project whatever we want out into the universe to create a great future for ourselves. You do not need to let your past influence your future if you do not want to, but if you want you can. For these reasons I agree with this quote, we can learn from mistakes, break bad habits, step out of our comfort zones and experience a future that is far greater than our past. We each have the ability to make this happen it is just a matter of being aware of it and taking your life into your hands and making this great future happen for you!
