The Final Chapter

It has now been 6 months since I first planted my Iris’ and I am sad to inform you all that the bulbs have finally given up and died. Out of 5 bulbs there were three which flourished, two of which flowered, one which just grew really long green stems and one which didn’t make it past week 3 in the growth process.
They didn’t seem to love the environment in my last flat, but considering it was dark and damp I can’t blame them as I also didn’t like the environment there! When I moved into my new flat, which is much warmer and has a lot more sunlight, the iris’ seemed to perk up and went through a massive growth spurt but they never seemed to flower again and have since gone downhill to the sad looking things you can see in the image below.
So my attempt to keep the iris’ alive has failed but I think that keeping them alive for 6 months is rather impressive for me who really is not a natural with gardening! Not sure what I will fill the pot with now…
